Overall rating: 10/10
HempHash have been pushing the standard of UK hemp flower to new levels for a while now, so when I saw their newest strain – Chardonnay – I was curious.
So I ordered an eighth and waited…
Delivery and packaging: 10/10
The delivery of my package was seamless, as it arrived at my doorstep in just two days. As for packaging, all HempHash flower products are carefully sealed in plastic and packaged inside sturdy metal containers, complete with a dehumidifier that ensures the freshness of the buds.
Not only do these HempHash containers have a sleek design, but they are also incredibly convenient for storing flower.
Bag appeal: 10/10
This is one of the most eye-poppingly beautiful CBD strains I’ve come across.
The buds are big and dense, mostly deep purple but with green and orange hairs poking through.
You can also see plenty of trichomes, giving the buds a slight twinkle when held close to the eye.
With my nose firmly in the pot, the main aroma that I pick up is strong berry/blackcurrant/grape. There’s a hint of red wine to it, despite being named after the white wine Chardonnay (a cross between Black Rose with Cherry Wine, and bred by HGH Seeds).
HempHash describes the aroma as strawberry-rhubarb jam and candied raspberries, and I agree – the strawberry-rhubarb notes are especially pleasant, with a slight creamy or cheesy undertone.
Taste (smoking vs vaping)
Chardonnay is super smooth to smoke – definitely a stand out among other strains that I’ve tried.
The taste when vaped is even better. I got big clouds of vapour which tasted like sharp berries and cream.
The piercing flavours of Chardonnay add an extra dimension to the effects of this strain. In my opinion, the potent terpene combination makes the effects that much stronger.
Other than an increase in intensity, Chardonnay offers the classic anxiety-melting effects that CBD flower is known for.
At £27.50 for 3.5g, Chardonnay is decent value when you consider how good it is. For the UK, you won’t find better quality than this.
