CBD has taken the spotlight in recent years, but CBG is just as interesting from a health perspective.
I’ve tried CBG in the form of oil, flower and vape, but never edible.
So when I was offered to try Ice Head Shop’s new CBG edible range, I jumped at the chance.
What is CBG?
CBG, short for cannabigerol, is one of hundreds of cannabinoids found in the flower of female cannabis plants.
It is known as the “mother of all cannabinoids” because it’s the first cannabinoid to form as a plant matures, and is the precursor to all other cannabinoids.
In short, CBG is where all cannabinoids begin.
Effects of CBG
Just like CBD, CBG is non-psychotropic, meaning it doesn’t get you high.
However, research does suggest that CBG interacts directly within our body’s internal endocannabinoid system. This may allow CBG to regulate the effects of other cannabinoids, like THC.
CBG products are used to treat chronic pain, anxiety, and insomnia, among other conditions.
Early research on CBG suggests it may be useful in treating conditions like IBD, glaucoma, Huntington’s disease, ADHD, and cancer. CB mGay also represent a useful antibacterial agent and appetite stimulant.

CBG Relax Chocolate

This chocolate is actually delicious. Honestly. If you like smooth and velvety chocolate – reminiscent of a certain brand that begins with ‘G’ (and ends with ‘alaxy’) – you’ll love this.
It also has a massive 1000mg of CBG per bar. With 24 square per bar, that makes just over 40mg of CBG per square. So you only need a couple of squares for a decent dose of CBG.

Alongside pure CBG, other ingredients include sugar, cocoa butter and whole milk.
The chocolate is also available in four delicious flavours: Milk Chocolate, Salted Caramel Crunch (my fave), Milk Caramel Fudge and Milk Chocolate Fudge.
I’ve given this chocolate to various friends and family members. Everyone was blown away by the great taste – and by the fact that you can’t taste the CBG. A couple with health issues noticed a reduction in inflammation and a relaxing effect.

Each bar costs £13.99, which world out at £1 per 71mg of CBG.

MaryJane Bitesize CBG Cookies

Just like the chocolate, these cookies have been developed with a clear focus on taste and quality.
Again, they are quite similar in taste to the well-known cookie brand that their branding loosely imitates.
Available in Choc Chip and Double Choc, these cookies each contain 25mg of CBG.

Being so small, these cookies are perfect for a quick and accurate dose of CBG, perhaps after a meal to aid digestion or early evening in order to unwind.
They’d also make a great Christmas present.
A pack of 12 cookies costs just £5.50 and there’s a discount when ordering more.
