A new survey has found that 50% of people in the UK aged between 18 and 34 would use CBD oil to treat their mental health issues rather than the pharmaceutical medications traditionally prescribed by doctors.
The research, commissioned by Eco Scientific and reported on by Open Access Government, covered a sample of over 2,000 adults living in Britain.
The wider findings indicate that there is a massive shift in perception of the current medical industry and the drugs that are so commonly prescribed by GP’s up and down the country.
Concerns about prescribed medications
In fact, 30% of the people in the study (representing close to 15 million of the population) “are wary of approaching a doctor about their mental health as they don’t want to be prescribed medication that may be too severe for their symptoms.”
Of 18-34 year olds, it’s 47%.
Holistic approah
The survey also found that 24% of subjects (35% of 18-34 year olds) prefer to use “holistic remedies” to manage their mental health over prescription drugs.
Additionally, 38% of people (50% of those aged 18-34) said they would use CBD oil to manage their mental health.
