Overall rating: 9.5/10
I had tried a few strains from Jimmy Green’s CBD a number of months ago, and, while they were certainly high quality, they didn’t particularly stand out over any other shop’s offering.
I enjoyed it but wasn’t moved to write a review or shout about it to anyone.
The again, the general standard for CBD flower in the UK back then was much lower.
Since then, there are a lot more shops now operating in the space and a whole host of new and exciting strains being developed around the world, particularly in Switzerland, Italy and the U.S.
Therefore, after hearing good things about their new stock, I decided to give Jimmy Green’s another go. And I’m glad I did…
Delivery and packaging: 8/10
Delivery took just one day. A brown envelope with no branding or stickers. Very discreet.
The buds themselves were in a heat-sealed pouch thrown in the envelope.
While the buds weren’t squashed, I like the fact that some vendors that use similar pouches are putting them inside bubble wrap as a way to protect the integrity of the flower.
This White Diesel looks the part. Large, sturdy nugs. Bulging in all the right places. A dusting of white trichomes obscuring a vibrant green underneath.
To touch, they seem perfectly cured. Not too dry at all. They do have that satisfying crunch when broken apart in the fingers though. And that leads me to this strain’s best feature…
The best smelling CBD flower I’ve had. Without a doubt.
For a long time I’ve been saying the, while the look and taste of some CBD strains is on par with ‘regular’ black market weed, the aromas just haven’t compared. Well this is the first that does compare.
It has a beautiful perfumey diesel stench. There’s some other aromas there – like a nice zesty lemon twang – but the pervading diesel smell cuts through it all. I honestly couldn’t stop smelling it.
Taste (smoking vs vaping)
This is a really nice smoke. Smooth and flavourful – a bit of a fruity, gassy taste,
I advise to smoke it pure. Goes well with a little hash, also.
On lower temps, I mostly got minty/menthol flavours. As the temperature increased, that strong diesel came through, along with sofer fruity undertones.
Vapour was smooth and tasty. And I got two good 1-minute rounds of heating out of one bowl.
A pleasant experience, but I did find smoking this strain to be more flavourful and enjoyable.
After half a joint of these stinky buds, I felt warm, relaxed and highly focused. And the effects were far from subtle. I could feel a noticeable body high that lasted for a good 45 minutes, at least.
If you’re looking to cut back on THC for any reason, I can see this strain being an ideal replacement for ‘street weed’. It will give you the relaxation and tranquility you want, without any of the intense cerebral effects of THC. Cravings won’t stand a chance.
At £9.50 per gram, the price of Jimmy Green’s White Diesel is about standard for the industry.
However, they do offer free delivery on orders over £34 and free tracked delivery on orders over £75.
